Bulgari’s Octo Finissimo timepieces are among the thinnest of luxury watchmaking, pushing the limits of horology. Known for its luxury watchmaking, perfume, clothing, jewelry, and even hotels, Bulgari was founded in 1884 by the Greek-born Sotirios Voulgaris.
Here we will take a look at the 103297 model from the Octo Finissimo collection.
Octagonal case shapes and ultra-thin movements are customary features of all watches in the series. A symbol of modernity, the Octo Finissimo Automatic watch expresses a unique union of unconventional Italian design and Swiss engineering with its sophisticated finishes.
This model has a 40mm extra-thin stainless steel case that is 6.4mm thick, and an integrated satin-polished stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp. It sports a matte-black dial with oversized Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 and the Octo’s baton-style hour markers. Small seconds appear on the sub-dial between 7 and 8 o’clock.
The most significant feature of the Octo family is its movement. Greeted with a sapphire caseback, the wearer is given a clear look at the ultra-thin calibre BVL138 measuring a mere 2.23mm thick and an integrated micro-rotor made from 950 Platinum. The 36-jewels, self-winding movement beats at a frequency of 3Hz (21600vph) and offers 60 hours of power reserve when fully wound. It is water-resistant up to 100 meters.
Take a look at the 103431 model. This version has all the same characteristics as the 103297, but features a beautiful blue dial instead of the latter’s matte-black.
Bulgari’s Octo Finissimo has a robust appearance, while the ultra-thin architecture offers maximum comfort. Its features appeal not only to Bulgari fanatics but to all watch collectors and enthusiasts.
